#realchicbride Karina Wears Cecilia by Katherine Tash For Lake Como Wedding

Meet #realchicbride Karina and read our chit chat about her wedding in Lake Como where she wore a Katherine Tash dress for her third look:

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

It all started on Bumble, where Rodolfo and I swiped right and instantly clicked. We quickly moved from chatting on the app to texting and talking on the phone nonstop. Our connection felt effortless, like we’d known each other forever. After weeks of getting to know each other, we met in person, and from that moment on, we were inseparable. A year later, Rodolfo took me to Iceland for our anniversary, where he planned a surprise proposal amidst the stunning landscape. That night, we witnessed the rare northern lights, a perfect symbol of our journey together. From Bumble to Iceland, we’ve built a life full of love, adventure, and magic—and we’re just getting started.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

When we began planning we envisioned wedding that was timeless, intimate, and magical—something that truly reflected us as a couple. Lake Como, Italy felt like the ideal place, a dream wedding that was about to come true! The lake offered a romantic, private villa for an intimate celebration with our closest family and friends. We chose Villa Pizzo for out wedding. We envisioned exchanging vows surrounded by nature’s beauty, marking the start of a new chapter filled with adventure and elegance. Lake Como was the perfect place to make unforgettable memories on our special day. All that came true and more! We had a three day wedding celebration that began with  our Dolce Vita Welcome Cocktail on a Friday our wedding on Saturday and our farewell boat party on Sunday! It truly was a fairly tale wedding. Our wedding was everything we envisioned and more!

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

One of the most important aspects of our marriage was including God in our union. As a couple of faith, we wanted to honor our beliefs and start our journey together with His blessing. For that reason, having a spiritual connection throughout our wedding was essential!

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

I had three incredible looks for my wedding, but for my final one, I knew I wanted something sexy yet elegant—something that made me feel confident and beautiful. That’s why I chose the Cecilia dress by Kathrine Tash. The moment I tried it on, I knew it was the one. It was exactly what I had envisioned: sexy and fitted, yet timelessly elegant. The sleek design hugged my body perfectly, and the luxurious fabric made me feel like I was glowing. I danced the night away in that dress, feeling both stunning and comfortable, and it was everything I had dreamed of.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Throughout the wedding planning process, my family and friends played a huge role in making everything come to life. From the very beginning, my mom was my rock—helping with everything from picking out the perfect venue to selecting the flowers. It’s not easy planning a wedding virtually. Her attention to detail made all the difference. My bridesmaids were incredible, offering support and endless encouragement, making the planning fun and stress-free.

On the wedding day, having everyone there to celebrate with us felt surreal. We had people from all over the world attend to witness our special day! My dad, walking me down the aisle, was a moment I’ll never forget—he was so proud and emotional, and it made the day even more meaningful. My friends and family made sure everything flowed smoothly. Their love and presence made our wedding day feel not just like a celebration of us, but a reflection of the amazing people we’re lucky to have in our lives. It wouldn’t have been the same without them.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

One of the many memories I will never forget from my wedding was the surprise fireworks show on the Lake. As the evening wore on and we danced under the stars, I thought the night couldn’t get any better. But then, without warning, the sky lit up in brilliant colors. A wave of gasps and cheers echoed through the guests as fireworks exploded overhead, lighting up the night in ways I could never have imagined! I looked at my partner we were both in awe. The fireworks were perfectly timed along with our wedding song, marking a breathtaking end to our celebration. Watching the vibrant bursts of light, I felt like the world had paused just for us, a magical moment frozen in time. Surrounded by our loved ones, I couldn’t help but feel incredibly lucky. It was a stunning, unexpected gift—a memory I will cherish forever!

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

For my wedding hair and makeup, I had a vision in mind long before the big day. During a trip to choose the villa, I did a trial with my stylist, and that’s when I solidified my look. I knew from the start that I wanted a sleek updo. I’ve always admired brides with elegant updos because they really showcase the face, and I wanted to feel both confident and graceful.

As for my makeup, I wanted a natural look that still felt glamorous—something that enhanced my features without overpowering them. When the day arrived, everything came together perfectly. My hair was styled into the sleek, elegant bun I had always envisioned, and my makeup was flawless—radiant yet subtle, with just the right amount of glamour. The entire look felt like it was made for me, and I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. It was exactly what I had dreamed of. Thank you to my makeup and hair stylists “thestudiocomo”

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

The moment I hired the “Join Us Lake Como” team, I knew I was in good hands. Specializing in luxurious weddings in the stunning Lake Como area, their team went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. From the very first consultation, they understood exactly what I wanted—elegance, beauty, and unforgettable moments. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and they worked tirelessly to ensure every aspect of our wedding and two other events was flawless.

When the big day arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The setting, the décor, the timing—it all came together perfectly. The “Join Us Lake Como” team not only handled everything seamlessly but did so with such warmth and professionalism that it made the entire process feel effortless. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, stress-free experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our dream wedding weekend!

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

Our honeymoon was nothing short of amazing. We began our journey in Sardinia, where the crystal-clear waters and stunning beaches made for the perfect start to our adventure. From there, we traveled to Puglia, where the charming towns, delicious food, and rich history left us in awe. Next, we made our way to Venice, where we got lost in the winding canals, enjoying the romance of the city at every turn. We ended our trip in Paris, the City of Love, where we explored the iconic sights, savored pastries in cozy cafés, and celebrated our love in the most magical way. Every destination was perfect, and our honeymoon was the beautiful escape we had always dreamed of!

A Polo Moment at a Vineyard Wedding (Rebekah Wears Muse by Berta!)

#realchicbride Rebekah wore Berta to her wedding - AT HER (NOW) HUSBAND’S VINEYARD! I mean, talk about dreamy. The polo player met her husband when she was hired to help him with the launch of the vineyard and the rest is history.

Her gorgeous Muse by Berta gown looked positively stunning against a backdrop of majestic friends!

Scroll to the bottom for credits.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

I MET MY HUSBAND AT GREENHILL WINERY IN MIDDLEBURG, VIRGINIA. HE HAD JUST PURCHASED IT, AND I WAS HIRED TO HELP LAUNCH THE BUSINESS. FOUR YEARS LATER, HE PROPOSED BY SURPRISING ME WITH A MINIATURE HORSE AND EQUESTRIAN INSPIRED RING (WE ARE HORSE OWNERS AND FANS!)

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

IT WAS A DECEMBER WEDDING, SO I ENVISIONED A WINTER WONDERLAND THEME. IT REALLY WAS A WONDERLAND! WE HAD WHITE FAUX FUR WALLS, WHITE FLOORS, FAUX FUR CUSHIONS AND COZY COUCHES, A PEGASUS ICE SCULPTURE, A HOT DRINKS BAR, AND CHRISTMAS TREES EVERYWHERE. THE WEDDING PARTY WORE WHITE, SPARKLES, AND ICE BLUE TONES.

How did you decide on the location?

THE RECEPTION LOCATION WAS AT GREENHILL WINERY, THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL STARTED.

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

I PURCHASED THE "BRIDGET" DRESS FROM MUSE BY BERTA'S SICILY COLLECTION. I ENDED UP REMOVING THE FLUTTER SLEEVES, BUT I JUST LOVED THE BODICE AND HOW IT MOVED. THE TRAIN AND LENGTH WERE BOTH PERFECT FOR WALKING AND TWIRLING WHILE STILL BEING ELEGANT.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

MY BEST FRIEND AND MATRON OF HONOR CAME UP WITH THE IDEA OF A WINTER WONDERLAND WEDDING, SHE HELPED ME A LOT WITH IDEAS. THE BRIDESMAIDS CHOSE THEIR OWN DRESSES, STICKING TO A SILVER AND ICE BLUE THEME.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

I WILL NEVER FORGET WHEN MY HUSBAND, DAVID, REQUESTED THE BAND TO PLAY METALLICA. AND THEY DID. WE HAVE THE BEST PICTURE OF HIM SINGING FROM THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS WITH HIS HANDS IN THE AIR.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I WENT BY MUSE BY BERTA'S SICILY INSPIRED LOOK. A LOW BUN, HAIR TENDRILS, HOOP EARRINGS, AND A GLOWY MAKEUP LOOK.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

GOSH, THEY WERE ALL AMAZING! I LOVE EVERY VENDOR. THE PASTRY CHEF MADE A TOWER OF BOMOBLINI'S WITH SUGAR ICICLES AND A DUSTING OF POWDERED SUGAR, SO I DO THINK EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT IF YOU WANT A TOWER OF SNOWBALLS TO EAT AT YOUR NEXT EVENT, IT CAN BE DONE!

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

WE WENT TO THE CARIBBEAN. THE BEST PART WAS MY HUSBAND FLYING US AROUND IN HIS PLANE, WE GOT TO THE BEAUTY OF THE ISLANDS FROM THE AIR.

A Chat With Our Virtual Stylists Alana Sirota and Kendall Huibregste

Kendall

My fav dresses right now are:

  • Inbal Dror’s 16-05 - the color & fit is to die for

  • Reem Acra’s Flock of Angels - love the slit, an edgy twist to an otherwise classic dress

  • Monique Lhuillier’s Alexandra - beyond romantic and the prettiest lace, ML is the lace queen

  • Berta’s 17-135 - a fully beaded, glamorous dress that still feels bridal & elegant

Here’s a tip for brides who are struggling with figuring out postponing wedding events and up-in-the-air timelines:

Stay calm and know that your wedding is going to feel as special as it did, even if you had to postpone. And if you had to postpone - know that planning flies by and even the day itself is over in the blink of an eye... so you get to enjoy being a bride for even longer, which is a pretty special 🥰 it only happens once!

My quarantine routine…

During quarantine I’m eating a lot of home-cooked meals, salads and take out. Binging Grey’s Anatomy from the beginning, and still trying to get 8-10k steps in going on long walks with my dog & boyfriend. Listening to a lot of Banks and Kacey Musgraves 🎶

Alana

Current favorite dresses:

  • My new fav is Berta Privee 20-P105 - it makes any waist tiny!

  • YolanCris’ Estrella Boho gown for beach destination wedding.

  • Ines di Santo’s Margot Old Hollywood glamour.

  • Monique Lhuillier’s Everest. Just so much fun!

Here’s a tip to get brides ahead of the game for their visit to shop with us when this is all over!

Define what silhouette do you see yourself walking down the aisle. Define the fabrics you love. Who will accompany to your appointment that will help you to say yes the dress.

My quarantine routine…

I’ve been talking loooong walks, supermarket runs for my elderly neighbor, lots of cooking, Listening to DJ Nice, Netflix and most important catching up on SLEEP 😴 💤

La Vita e Bella in Capri! A #realchicbride wears Berta at her swoony Italian wedding.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

Mike and I met in Miami through a mutual friend I went to college with. I had been living in Miami for eight years at the time and was ready for a new experience. I had decided I would move to NYC to be closer to friends and family but hit it off with Mike a month before I was scheduled to move. I followed my gut and put my move on hold and it ended up being one of my best decisions to date.

Mike proposed about three years later when we were visiting my family in Rhode Island one summer weekend.  We were running towards my favorite lookout spot over the beach and once we got to a bench there he faked a leg cramp. Next thing I knew he was down on one knee!

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

To be honest, I actually had no idea what I envisioned for our wedding when we first got engaged.  We were open to everywhere from Miami where we live to Rhode Island where I grew up and Mike has family, and finally ended up choosing Italy. Once we got our planner (Federica Nascimben with the Italian Wedding Event – she was fantastic) – everything kind of happened organically and she really helped us shape our vision.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

We realized everyone would be taking a long trek to get to Capri (not the easiest little island to travel to) so we wanted our wedding to be super stress-free and just straight fun for everyone making the trip. That helped us prioritize having enough transportation and bars that no one was ever waiting for a ride or a drink the whole weekend!

How did you decide on the location?

Initially, we were trying to plan a wedding in Miami as we both live here and a lot of our friends do as well. It started becoming really stressful and I was having a hard time finding a venue that I loved enough to have it be super special and memorable.

Mike and I have always loved traveling and after a long conversation venting to one of my best friends about venue options, one night realized that a destination wedding was such a better fit for us.  Being that Mike and I are both from Italian families and it’s one of our favorite places, we initially decided on Portofino as we had vacationed there the summer before and had such an amazing time. Federica, our planner, convinced us to look at Southern Italy after discussing the things that were important to us and really sold me on this “magical ocean location that was not your typical wedding venue.” That got me from the start and even looking at pictures of Lido Del Faro did not prepare me for how beautiful it was in person (which I didn’t see until the day I walked down the aisle)! I’ve always loved the ocean and was way more into cliffside beach club vibes than a more formal hotel-type setting.

The locations for the welcome party and brunch the day after were at Capri Palace and Il Ricco which Mike picked and they were just as incredible. And the best part about Italy was obviously that the food was insane at every venue!

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

I think out of most every detail of my wedding the dress was the only one I was sure of from the very beginning! I’ve never been one to fantasize about a wedding growing up or look at wedding dresses, but I stumbled across Berta dresses on Instagram a few months before we got engaged.  I actually have a picture of my dress in my phone from before we got engaged because I thought it was so different and beautiful. The week after I got engaged, being super excited and already thinking about trunk shows, I called Chic Parisien after finding out they were the only Miami bridal store that carried Berta to make an appointment for a trunk show I saw they were having a few months later. The lady on the phone told me that they were having the last trunk show of the 2018 F/W dresses the following weekend and why don’t I just come in then to try some on.  I swore up and down I would not be buying a dress as I had gotten engaged about two weeks earlier at the time but once I tried this dress on it was a done deal.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Luckily both our families were super excited once we decided on Italy and were very supportive during all the planning. That being said, I did easily figure out that while I am normally very indecisive and like to ask others’ opinions, for your wedding you really do just want to do what you and your husband want and I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings by not taking their recommendations.  For that reason, I mostly kept the planning between me, Mike and our planner.

On the day of the wedding, we both got ready and spent the day preparing with family and friends, and I also chose my parents’ wedding song to walk down the aisle to.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

That we all ended up in the pool at the venue for a pool party at the end of the night because it was so hot from all the dancing! Also, that I got my husband dance for the first (and probably last time) and I think he actually enjoyed himself!!!

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I thought I knew what I wanted for both our welcome reception and the wedding (I experimented a few times during fittings to test out some different looks) but I changed both looks the day of with the hair and makeup team. I have to admit that’s mostly due to the heat because didn’t want to deal with any sort of down hairdo or pieces when it was so hot. It ended up being a great decision because we were all dripping sweat during the ceremony!

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

I’m going to have to mention two. My photographer, Evan Rich Photography, I discovered when I was looking for venues in Miami. He had an Italian shoot on his site and was also another inspiration for choosing Italy because his pictures made it look absolutely dreamy. I loved his work but unfortunately, he was booked on all the dates I was looking at in Miami. When we decided on Italy, I was thrilled he would be able to make it. He and his wife were so amazing in every step of the wedding day.  They really helped streamline the day and took the most beautiful pictures I could have asked for. Also, Mike hates taking pictures normally and I’ve never seen his teeth so much from him smiling as in all our wedding pictures.

Also, DJ Fabio Vuotto!!! DJ Fabio is the Capri resident DJ and he played all the music for our ceremony, reception and the day after brunch. I didn’t give him any recommendations other than the songs we walked out to for our ceremony and our first dance/father daughter/mother son dances. I figured if he was that good I should just trust his vibe and music judgment for the crowd and he was such a hit.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

We left straight from our wedding to Switzerland and toured the country over the next week from Zurich to Lucerne and ended in St. Moritz.  We stayed at some beautiful hotels and took some amazing hikes and nature tours but the best part was being so well-rested by the time we returned home to Miami that I went straight into work the next day feeling like a million bucks! Switzerland was extremely relaxing which was very much needed after going straight from a bachelorette weekend in the Amalfi coast to the wedding week.

Get To Know Lazaro Perez, Designer of Lazaro

Our summer intern, Carolina Baigorri, sat down with our friend, the talented designer, Lazaro for a chat about how he got involved in the industry, Diana Ross, and the future of his brand. Caro did an excellent job capturing the spirit of Lazaro, who speaks with passion and excitement about everything he does!

How did you discover your passion for designing wedding dresses?

I always wanted to become a costume designer. I entered a competition for a bridal contest while I was still in school for a young designer to create a bridal collection.

Growing up, my mother was a seamstress and she did a lot of bridal gowns and other things to help make ends meet. I realized after joining the competition that I really loved doing this and it was something I wanted to do in the future. If you think about it, a wedding dress is the most important costume you’ll ever wear. I ended up winning the contest and it opened up many doors.

How have your Cuban roots impacted your designs?

You always see a little bit of a Spanish flare in my dresses. Especially when I was starting my career I always put lace that gave almost a flamenco feel to my designs. As years passed, my aesthetic changed but there will always be a little Spanish influence.

I play off of my heritage and a lot of my customers also come from ethnic backgrounds.

Do you have any tips brides?

I always say “keep an open mind.”

I travel a lot and do various trunk shows and I always see that the biggest mistake a bride makes is not wanting to try something out of their comfort zone. Some brides have an idea of what they want their dress to be but it may not be the one you walk out of the store with.

Do you have a muse or a specific person you think of when designing?

I’m going to be very corny and say my brides are my muse. A lot of my collections are based on what I see that my brides want.

I have this repore with my brides where they tell me what they like and I can probably go back and design a whole collection based on that.

I grew up in the 80’s with the whole disco era and my style icon is Diana Ross. I actually designed a dress for her daughter and I thought I would die when I met her. She is able to change 20 times throughout one show and it is a mind blowing experience. Diana Ross made a movie called “Mahogany” and it was what made me want to be a fashion designer. In the movie she plays a designer and when I met her she said “That’s what I really wanted to do, that was my passion”. Every fashion person should watch Mahogany it was life changing for me.

lazaro-bridal-fall-2019-style-3958-kalina_2.jpeg

Describe your creative process. What steps do you take when creating?

I am not one of those designers that actually sits and creates a whole collection. I may come up with an idea and there’s always one sketch which can lead to ten sketches.

I am a very visual person, so I like to work on the mannequin a lot. Every designer starts with a certain way that they want the collection to go to, whether it’s glamorous or very soft. I come up with a concept and we take it from there.

lazaro-bridal-fall-2019-style-3957-marigold.jpg

What do you think makes a bride feel beautiful?

I think once a bride puts on that one dress, it hits her.

Every bride to me is beautiful no matter what dress it is, mine or someone else’s. I think that’s something to be said for the bride because they try on a dress and feel like this is the one. It’s a happy occasion, so no matter what they try on, they feel it.

What does the future have in store for Lazaro?

I would love for the brand to evolve. I am starting to creep in there some of the red carpet looks. Eventually, there will be an evening line coming out, which I am excited about.

Every designer should expand for themselves, not just their brand.

You start very red carpet, you know for evening events and eventually expand. Eventually that evening collection can turn into mothers of the bride or something similar. That is where I see it going right now, there are talks of many other things but that is where I see it going.

A Chic Miami-Themed Soiree for the Berta Miami Collection

Berta Miami Collection comes to Chic Parisien - and we celebrated with a party in chic Miami style!

We were thrilled to welcome some of the Miami bridal industry’s brightest stars to Chic Parisien for a celebration of the Berta Miami Collection. From stationary artists to photographers, planners and bakers, we toasted with fruity mojitos by Craft Cartel to this chic new collection inspired by our hometown.

Vanity Projects was set up to transform our nails with Berta-inspired nail art - our guests could pick from rhinestone designs pulled from the motif of our favorite gowns from the collection, an art deco print or a palm frond! Everyone left with a bit more sparkle than a basic mani!

Veronica from Anthology transformed the space into a tropical oasis - we loved it so much that we kept it up through the weekend. Brides who had scheduled trunk show appointments to shop the collection were in for a tropical treat when they walked in!

The whole store was glowing under the pink light of our new neon sign! We can’t wait to see all the photos our smiling brides are going to take underneath it.

A very special thank you to Enuel Viera who snapped these photos for us and captured the magic of the evening! It was a night of Cuban food from Versailles (what could be more Miami?!), great conversation, amazing connections and chic tropical tunes!

More Dresses, In More Sizes

We've been listening to our bride's feedback and have started ordering sample gowns in more sizes. We now carry a new collection of dresses, from a variety of designers, in more sizes.

Let us take a step back and explain; at Chic Parisien, as is the industry standard at high-end bridal boutiques, you find your dream dress using our in-store samples. Then, we take your measurements and place your order with our chic designers. Our designers create your custom gown, made-to-measure so that it fits you perfectly, but samples, traditionally, come in similar sizes to how the gowns are shown on the designer runway.

While offering sample sizing allows some brides to try on gowns in the boutique, others use the gowns as an example of fabric, look and feel and then place a bespoke order. Now at Chic Parisien, more brides can experience the fit of their gown before placing an order for their custom gown. We know that our beautiful brides come in all shapes and sizes and we want every bride's experience to be as special as possible.

We are thrilled to showcase in this gallery just a small sampling of the dresses we now have available in store in sizes beyond the runway sample size. Make an appointment now to see the rest of this chic collection!

Behind The Scenes At Our Latest Shoot

We partnered up with Vanessa Velez Photography, Soco Alicia (planner), Angel Rodriguez (florist), Adrienne Ferreira (model) to shoot some of our favorite looks for spring brides. If you're recently engaged, now is the perfect time to start shopping for your wedding dress - even if your wedding isn't until next spring or summer!

We styled some brand new Ines Di Santo dresses, here for last weekend's trunk show, with accessories by Maria Elena for that bit of signature, #realchicbride sparkle and AMAZING boutiques by Angel Rodriguez speckled with peonies, ranunculus, and other spring florals.

Plus, we got the chance to play dress up with some of our brand new Christos Costarellos dresses - the perfect tea length dress for a garden wedding or a rehearsal dinner. More photos by the very talented Vanessa Velez are on the way, but until then, these behind the scenes shots should hold you over!

Winter Wedding Inspiration, Even Here in Tropical Paradise

unspecified-5
unspecified-5

It's February. While that means winter weddings featuring white fur stoles and definitely long sleeve dresses everywhere else, it's just another day in paradise here in Miami. There's no better time to be outside than mid-winter in Coral Gables where its the perfect time of year for dinner parties al fresco and beach days - but that doesn't mean we don't crave a bit of winter whimsy.

Alas, Maria Elena Accessories knows this all too well, that might be why they went with a winter theme for their lookbook featuring the newest earrings, necklaces, tiaras, and, of course, headpieces. The photos are the perfect inspiration for a winter #realchicbride whether in Miami or in the "real" winter.
