Loveliest of Afternoons: Jenny Packham, Tea and Great Company!
This past Friday we had the loveliest of afternoons... We hosted a tea party for our friends of the Merrick House committee featuring the spectacular Jenny Packham Bridal collection! This event was actually a warm up to the series “Sundays on the Porch with George” in which we will be participating in February. The series is a group of events throughout the fall and spring, that have themes, history, art, gardening and poetry. The purpose is to bring the community together and give awareness to the Merrick House Museum, gardens and its history.
We’re thrilled we were asked to participate in an event celebrating the marriage of George and Eunice Merrick, founders of Coral Gables. We will be showcasing Jenny Packham’s 2014 bridal collection at the event, as well as enjoy tea, tea sandwiches, a wedding cake contest and a string quartet playing waltzes in the afternoon. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the date! But truly, our "warm up" this past Friday was a treat! The lovely ladies of the committee were such great company! We also had the pleasure of having Amelia Gibson, executive director for Jenny Packham - North and South America, join us and tell us all about Jenny's collection. Amazing artist, stylist and master designer, Debra Moreland of PARIS Accessories is coming to Miami this weekend… We’re obsessed with her collection and her amazing ability to style brides! So in light of her personal appearance, we asked her what are the 3 key tips a bride-to-be must know when getting styled for the big day. Here's what the fabulous Debra said:
- Be sure to bring along any accessories that you’re planning to wear that you already have (i.e. grandmothers pearls, etc.)
- Be open to being styled, it’s not a shopping trip. Live like a celebrity and have fun.
- Bring the person whose opinions are most helpful, too many ideas and personalities make it difficult to get these important decisions made.
She added “I completely style each bride with multiple pieces... Earrings, bracelets, necklaces hair pieces, belts, and veils, in whatever order needed.” We can’t wait to see her at work! The makings of our bridal photo shoot!
How are you friends? We hope you had a lovely weekend! We definitely had an eventful week, not only did we have an amazing Marchesa Trunk Show, but we also had our seasonal photo shoot. We do these photo shoots to showcase some of the key gowns, accessories and trends of the season! As you can imagine, prepping for these shoots is intense… We coordinate with the photographer, models, make up artist, hair stylist, florist, props, location etc This is almost like prepping for a wedding, but without the guests nor the honeymoon! Ha! But like most weddings, we had a blast and thought it would be fun to show you some of the behind the scene outtakes of our shoot! Stay tuned and look for the official shots in upcoming weeks! We can’t wait!
And, of course, just like a wedding, it takes a full village for this gorgeousness to come to life... Special thanks to the following: the photographer was the incomparable Ray Santana. We're beyond thrilled! Off the heels of Bridal Market, this weekend we have the amazing Liancarlo Trunk Show! This collection is absolutely AMAZING! It's designed for a modern day princess... Gorgeous silhouettes, exquisite fabrics and the most stunning details we've seen in a while. But as usual images speak louder than words. How was your weekend? We hope it was as great as ours. As many of you know, we've been in NYC attending Bridal Market. This is the official event where all the top bridal fashion designers showcase their latest collections! We have been witnessing Spring 2014 collections unveil and sashay down the runways! So far the collections this year have been absolutely AMAZING! We have seen everything from exquisite detailed lace, to minimalistic modern couture styles, to Great Gatsby inspirations, to dramatic gowns fit for a queen. What we've loved most is how everything is absolutely BREATHTAKING, one gasp after another!
